Akino Lindsay is a multiple award winning taekwondo champion from Kingston, Jamaica. Akino has been studying taekwondo for six years and received his black belt in 2016. His titles include 2015 International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA), World Champion and the Pan American Champion, and International Taekwondo Federation World Champion in 2014. Akino currently teaches taekwondo in inner city communities as part of the Fight for Peace-supported collective impact programme which uses sports to reach youth in communities with high levels of violence. For his Michael Johnson Young Leaders Project, Akino is interested in integrating math instruction with taekwondo to help students with low levels of numeracy.
