After further years of support as an Ambassador, Young Leaders have the opportunity to apply to be a “Mentor”. These are the few Young Leaders who want to give back to the MJYL community by sharing what they have learned with the incoming classes.
Mentors will receive tailored leadership training from the foundation’s expert partners and will attend and help lead the weeklong course in Dallas. They will be provided skills in facilitation, leadership approaches, and public speaking. Over the next year, they are assigned a group of new Young Leaders to help guide and advise.
This key element of the program will enable a train-the-trainer sustainable model of youth leadership.
